The Jupiter Club: Jupiter 1st Birthday Party, 3 November

The Jupiter Club will be turning 1 year old soon. On the 3rd of November we'll have a big birthday party with a whole array of returning guests from the last year, including the greats Finn Andrews (of The Veils), Alex Cox (of Wild Wolves and Vincent Vincent & the Villains), Beans on Toast, as well as a first-time appearance from very special guest Ade Omotayo (Man Like Me, Amy Winehouse).

There will as ever be songs from the Jupiter's regular hosts Kitty Finer, yoB and J Maizlish Mole, with the ever-expanding all-star Jupiter House Band.

The Jupiter House Band features members of Marseille Figs, The Pogues, Man Like Me, Down I Go, Internet Forever, Her Parents and the JJ Horns, including Felix Weldon, Tom Ash, Chris Alcock, Pete Fraser and Jem Finer, with this month's guests Gustavo C.M. and Bobby Groves.

Plus DJs and a late bar till 3am. The first Saturday of every month at The George Tavern, all year round.

About the Jupiter

The Jupiter was a monthly live music night built around the all-star Jupiter House Band and hosted by singer/songwriters yoB, J. Maizlish Mole and Kitty Finer. Featured guests performed with the band every month. The Jupiter took place on the first Saturday of every month at East London's legendary George Tavern [see map], between November 2011 and September 2013.

The Jupiter House Band includes members of Man Like Me, Drop Velvet, Marseille Figs, Down I Go, Internet Forever, Her Parents and the JJ Horns. The music is an eclectic mix of acoustic, punk-spirited pop, girl-group, rowdy folk, rock and soul.

Guests included Finn Andrews (The Veils), Beans on Toast, Alex Mills (Tricky, Basement Jaxx), Internet Forever, Debsey Wykes (Birdie, Dolly Mixture), Alice Ballantine (Kidnap Alice), Isabel Munoz Newsome (ADA), Alex Cox (Wild Wolves, Vincent Vincent & the Villains), DM Bob & Silke Thoss (The Watzloves, The Deficits), Lola Ulalume (Dark Moon) and Jess Murray.
